I don’t mind jumping from one book to another at any given time. I think of reading as conversations, and I enjoy multiple-layered conversations.
Just as there are conversations that flow naturally, there are also some that feel awkward, or lack common ground. I don’t mind closing a book without arriving at the last page–most times I give it away in hopes that it will have a better conversation with someone else.
