The Lady of Bolton HillThe Lady of Bolton Hill by Elizabeth Camden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this love story, as I do most love stories from Bethany House Publishers. They do historical romances particularly well, and this is a good example.

The Lady of Bolton Hill is a light, enjoyable romance with a colorful backdrop of labor unrest, booming American capitalism, and the beginnings of the railroad industry.

My only qualm is that the male protagonist, Daniel, sounds too feminine. His thoughts, his actions, his lines all could’ve fit a woman’s, despite the alpha-male description. When he professes his love or thinks about his feelings for his beloved, it almost makes me squirm.
