The Litigators

I’ve loved John Grisham since The Firm and The Pelican Brief, but I stopped after a few novels because they were starting to feel predictable. I give in now and then, even though I find nothing spectacular.

Then I picked up The Litigators, a recent one, and I hit the jackpot. One of his best yet, if you ask me. It got me laughing out loud by myself in public, so that’s got to mean something. And of course equal parts desperate, tense, and genius. If you’re going to read only one Grisham novel this year (or this lifetime), The Litigators had better be it.
